Rosie May’s Legacy

Rosie May’s mantra at 10 years of age was ‘girl power’. How very fitting her living legacy is and how very proud she must be.

As we grow from our roots of a family charity into an international children’s charity, we will never forget Rosie May. She is and always will be our complete inspiration.

Graham, Rosie’s dad and co-founder of the Rosie May Foundation says ‘Rosie danced before she could walk and she thought I had wrote this song for her, when I sang it to her. During those dark days this helped get us through’.💜

A perfect tribute to Rosie May - vocals and guitar by her dad Graham Storrie this was originally recorded in 2004 and personally endorsed by Van Morrison.

‘The original recording was on CD in 2004, so we hope that this re-release which can be downloaded on all major platforms, will help more people to know about Rosie May and make sure that she is never forgotten’

On our 22nd anniversary we reflect on Rosie May’s life and the incredible legacy she has inspired transforming lives across the world 🌍

Twenty Two years on - a living legacy for Rosie May forever 10 💕 inspired by the Asian tsunami 🌊

In December 2004 seeking to escape the painful memories of the previous Christmas when she was brutally murdered aged 10, her family went on holiday to South Asia 🌎

On Christmas Day, the family planted a small palm tree in loving memory of Rosie May. The next day, as they stood on the shores of the Indian Ocean, the tsunami struck—a catastrophic event that claimed more than 230,000 lives across 14 countries.

Discovering the little palm tree, miraculously still standing upright amidst the swirling debris, gave them hope. In that moment they felt that Rosie May was watching over them and the newly planted palm tree. 🌴💕

It was this inspiration that led to the creation of the Rosie May Foundation. Read about their experience here on BBC East Midlands Today, go to Rosie May Foundation link tree on Instagram 💕
