Rosie May’s Legacy

Rosie May’s mantra at 10 years of age was ‘girl power’. How very fitting her living legacy is and how very proud she must be.

As we grow from our roots of a family charity into an international children’s charity, we will never forget Rosie May. She is and always will be our complete inspiration.

This #tuktuktuesday , we’re shining a light on the amazing Derby Soroptimists and showing how their Think Pink tuk tuk truly keeps on giving.

Kindly donated by the wonderful Derby Soroptimists, our pink tuk tuk doesn’t just change lives once — it changes them again and again. As each driver builds her income, she’s supported to save and earn, with the goal of leasing her own vehicle. When that happens, the pink tuk tuk is passed on to another woman, creating a ripple of opportunity.

These tuk tuks provide safe, reliable journeys for women and girls travelling to work and school — while opening the door to real financial independence.

Pictured here are our founder Mary Storrie with Project Manager Ramani at Project Hope in Sri Lanka.

Mary who recently returned from her visit to Project Hope shared…

“It’s truly inspirational to see the social mobility of these women — empowering themselves, supporting their families, and lifting up their communities, because when women are given the tools to thrive, the impact goes so much further than one journey and one woman “.💗🚖

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight on Angela 🌟

This #MotivationalMonday we are celebrating Angela, one of our truly incredible volunteers whose kindness and dedication make a real difference every single week.

You will find Angela every Friday at Lidl in Bingham collecting donations and making sure they reach local food banks where they are needed most.
During the pandemic Angela was at the heart of the team delivering medicine, food and essentials to vulnerable people in their homes bringing comfort in the most challenging times.

Angela has also taken on amazing adventures for the Foundation driving through Derbyshire and even around Sri Lanka as part of our tuk tuk fundraising challenges.

Her commitment and spirit were instrumental in the Foundation being awarded Volunteer of the Year 2021.

Angela, thank you for your compassion, your energy and your huge heart. You inspire us all.
